Payments: Frequently Asked Questions

There are a number of ways IAA can accept funds to settle your account. The payment methods detailed below are split between either you making a payment remotely or you attending one of our sites to pay at a IAA counter.

Vehicles will only be released once confirmed funds are identified, cleared and allocated to a buyers account

Paying Remotely

When paying IAA you must provide a copy of your bank receipt and also complete and send a Payment Notification Form which can be found by clicking here. Failing to send the correct paperwork will result in a delay in allocating your funds and therefore a delay in releasing your vehicles.

In all cases the bank details shown below should be used and your buyer's number must be included with the payment to ease identification of your funds when we review our bank account.

UK Bank Transfer - This is our preferred payment method as vehicles can be released immediately on identification of your payment into our bank account.

Foreign Bank Transfer - The transfer should be made in £ Sterling (GBP). In addition you will need to include an extra payment to cover any bank charges suffered by IAA which at the moment are typically £7 GBP.

At a NatWest Bank Branch - This is not a preferred payment method as funds paid in cannot be allocated until at least the next working day. There is sometimes difficulty identifying whether the payment is either cash or cheque and therefore additional delays may also occur. Please do not pay using a quick deposit envelope.

Cash - We no longer accept payment by cash.

Paying at an IAA Site

You can pay at 6 of our 10 sites. Our sites are open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.

Please note:
No Payments of any type can be accepted at our Truro or Aberdeen sites.
No Credit Card Payment can be made at Carluke or Hamilton.
No cash payments will be accepted at our Ormskirk site.
Only bank transfers are accepted at our Newbury site, no cash or credit cards will be accepted.
Only card payments will be accepted at our Sandtoft site.

Cash - We no longer accept payment by cash.

Credit and Debit Cards - We accept all major Credit and Debit cards at our sites (except American Express), cards will be verified using Chip & Pin readers. If you are paying a large amount it is often worth contacting your card issuer beforehand to inform them about the intended payment to simplify the authorisation process when payment is taken from your card.

Please Note: We do not accept credit/debit card payments over the phone.

Cheque - This is not a preferred method of payment as we will not be able to release vehicles paid by cheque for 10 working days from receipt of a cheque. This is to ensure that the payment is cleared in full before vehicles are removed from our sites. Cheques should be payable to "IAA Vehicle Services Ltd".

Bankers Drafts - Again this is not a preferred payment method as IAA does not recognize this as guaranteed funds. We treat bankers' drafts in the same way as cheques (see above).
